*Rankings are unofficial as we work to gather data through 2024. More info is available on the rankings page.

We have info sheets like the one below for every player, including you! Head to the rankings page and click on a name to expand the player info tab!

  • First, players must meet the eligibility requirements in order to be ranked. Beginning 1/1/2026, they must have played in at least 12 UBA-registered tournaments within the past 24 months. All rankings published before 1/1/2026 are unofficial.

Each player's points are individually calculated according to how well they place in tournaments and how many teams are in those tournaments.

The number of teams in a tournament determines the maximum number of points that a player can get in that tournament. For example, a player who gets 1st place in a 24 team tournament receives 24 points from that tournament. The exception to this rule is that any tournament with 16 or fewer teams will award points based on a 16 point minimum. For example, if someone comes in 1st in a 12 team tournament, they will receive 16 points.

For ALL tournaments: 1st place receives 100% of the max points, 2nd receives 75% of the max points, 3rd receives 50% of the max points, and 4th receives 40% of the max points.

For a tournament with 12 - 19 teams, the top half of teams will receive 30% of the max points and the bottom half will receive 3%.

For a tournament with 20 - 39 teams, the top quarter of teams will receive 30% of the max points, the top half will receive 25%, and the bottom half will receive 3%.

For a tournament with 40 - 79 teams, teams that place in the top eighth will receive 30% of the max points, the top quarter will receive 25%, the top half will receive 20%, and the bottom half will receive 3%.

For a tournament with 80+ teams, teams that place in the top sixteenth will receive 30% of the max points, the top eighth will receive 25%, the top quarter will receive 20%, the top half will receive 10%, and the bottom half will receive 3%.

  • Your UBA Score is calculated by taking into account the number of points you've scored and the number of tournaments you've played in order to rank you in the fairest way possible. The formula used allows players who have played in different sized tournaments and different numbers of tournaments to be fairly ranked against one another.

We take the total number of points you've earned and divide it by the total number of points you could have possibly earned. This gives us an idea of how well you are placing in tournaments percentile-wise, which helps make this equitable for tournaments of different sizes. In order to make sure that we DO account for tournament size, we then multiply that number by your average points scored per tournament and then make the number a bit prettier (a little less decimal-y) by multiplying by 10.

This formula ranks players who place first in larger tournaments above those who place first in smaller tournaments.

  • There are two eligibility requirements for tournaments:

    1) 12 teams minimum

    2) Open to the public (cannot be an invitational)

  • Email unifiedbocce@gmail.com to submit tournament results.
There are two sets of information we need to input your tournament.

    1) Complete and accurate rosters for each team, including:
-player name (first and last, no nicknames please)
    -homestate for each player

    2) Final standings, with the final result for EVERY team
( we need to know more than just the top teams for accurate rankings)

note: Final standings can be in any form. If you are not using digital brackets, we suggest just taking a picture of the winners and losers brackets and sending that in. We can take it from there as long as things are clear and legible.

  • Q: How often are rankings updated?

A: Rankings are updated every time we receive new tournament results.

Q: I am not a ranked player. How do I get to be ranked?

A: Once you play in any UBA-sanctioned tournament, you will automatically enter our system. Beginning 1/1/2026, It is up to you to play in at least 12 tournaments in a 24 month time frame in order to remain an eligible ranked player.

  • at least 12 UBA Events participated in for the past 24 months (goes into effect 1/1/26)

  • 12 teams minimum

    Open to the public

  • 1 point per team for first place (16 pts. minimum)

    [e.g., 12 team tournament = 16 pts for first place; 64 team tournament = 64 pts for first, etc…]

    Pts. by percentage:
    1st – 100%
    2nd – 75%
    3rd – 50%
    4th – 40%

    12+ teams: top ½ 30%, bottom ½ 3%

    20+ teams: top ¼ 30%, top ½ 25%, bottom ½ 3%

    40+ teams: top ⅛ 30%, top ¼ 25%, top ½ 20%, bottom ½ 3%

    80+ teams: top 1/16 30%, top ⅛ 25%, top ¼ 20%, top ½ 10%, bottom ½ 3%

If there is a tie for 3rd, both teams that tie get 45% of the points.

  • If fewer than half of the teams advance to knockoff round(s), the teams that do not advance will be ranked only on record (W-L).

If there is a “Silver” or “Second Chance” Tournament, the winner of that tournament will be awarded the same points as top ½ of finishers overall.

A player’s Overall UBA Ranking is determined by Average Points x ((Total Pts x 10)/Possible Pts).
